Art Glass Project in a 1st grade classroom

backgroundStandards & Learning
Firework Studio/Glass Art Projects offers after school enrichment classes, visiting artist workshops and complete glass-fusing-project-kits to schools and organizations to introduce people to the art of fusing glass. We have been in business since 2001 Children create their own fused glass sun-catchers, mezuzahs, bowls, sculptures and jewelry. Students will explore the visual and elemental properties of glass through experimentation and observation. They will learn several kiln forming and glass fusing techniques, which will be used to express themselves through the fabulous glass projects they create.
program
Art Glass Project - A one-hour Glass Fusing Workshop This one-hour workshop is an introduction to the ancient art of glass fusing. Children of all artistic skill levels are proud of the glass art projects that they make. Both boys and girls are drawn into working with this magical material as they learn what happens to glass when it is melted. These class activities stir their creativity and curiosity about science and art. Hassle free with virtually no mess!. Participants will use glue and tweezers to assemble their collages, which are then taken to the glass studio to be fired in a kiln. Finished projects will be returned to the teachers the following week. All materials and tools are provided. We also offer group project kits that are great money-makers for school art auctions and fundraising events.
