program
Voyage of Odysseus is one of 22 Enrichment Works theatrical assembly programs currently touring the Los Angeles area. Greek King Odysseus (Joshua Feinman) bids farewell to his wife Penelope and son Telemachus and invites the audience to take an interactive journey with him into the world of Greek mythology. Odysseus and his warriors (students in the audience) sail to Troy, and win the Trojan War. Our hero is challenged by the cave-dwelling monster Polyphemos, then on his continued journey home, encounters a beautiful woman named Circe. She turns his loyal sailors (students) into pigs and then, after she falls in love with Odysseus, turns them back into men. Odysseus sails past the sirens, battles the whirlpool created by Poseidon, God of the Sea and finally after 20 years returns to his homeland. Penelope, pursued by suitors, remains faithful to her husband. Odysseus, disguised as a stranger, scares the suitors away; finally, he reveals himself and reunites his family.
